At Sónter Studio, we use a carefully selected range of premium materials to balance beauty, durability, and accessibility. Our collections include:

• 316 stainless steel: Used in our core pieces for its exceptional strength, tarnish resistance, and hypoallergenic properties.
• 925 sterling silver: A precious metal chosen for fine, timeless pieces such as our tennis bracelets and everyday essentials.
• Gold vermeil: A thick layer of gold (2.5 microns) over 925 sterling silver, offering the look and feel of solid gold for our delicate rings and stud earrings.
• Brass: A durable and versatile base metal used for our more fashion-forward styles, allowing for sculptural, statement designs at a more accessible price point.

We use different materials depending on the design, functionality, and style of each piece - always with the goal of creating jewellery that looks luxurious, wears well, and suits a range of occasions.

PVD stands for Physical Vapour Deposition - a modern, environmentally friendly process used to apply a thin but extremely durable coating to jewellery. Unlike traditional plating, PVD creates a strong bond with the base metal, making it more resistant to tarnishing, fading, and everyday wear. It also gives our pieces their beautiful, long-lasting finish.

We use high-quality 316 stainless steel, often referred to as “surgical grade” stainless steel. It’s known for its strength, durability, and excellent resistance to tarnish and corrosion. It's also hypoallergenic, making it a great choice for those with sensitive skin and ideal for everyday wear.

We use brass in select fashion pieces because it’s a versatile and widely used material in the jewellery industry - favoured by many well-known brands for its ability to bring bold, sculptural designs to life. It allows us to create on-trend styles with a luxe look and feel, without the high price tag. When finished with our high-quality plating, brass becomes both beautiful and wearable. To keep your brass pieces looking their best, we recommend avoiding water and storing them in a dry place when not in use.

Gold vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is a premium plating technique where a thick layer of genuine gold - at least 2.5 microns is applied over solid 925 sterling silver. We use gold vermeil for our fine rings and stud earrings to give you the luxurious look of solid gold, with greater durability than standard gold plating. Because it’s made with precious metals only, gold vermeil is also hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin. With proper care, these pieces can be cherished for years to come.

Our tennis bracelet collection is crafted from solid 925 sterling silver, offering a timeless and luxurious look with lasting quality. Sterling silver is a precious metal known for its strength and shine, making it the perfect choice for fine jewellery you'll wear every day. Each bracelet is finished with premium plating for added durability and brilliance.

Our jewellery is designed with longevity in mind. With proper care, your pieces will remain beautiful over time. However, like all fine jewellery, they are delicate by nature. Gold vermeil and sterling silver may dull slightly with wear but can be refreshed with gentle polishing.

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery on full-priced items that are unworn and in original condition. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. For hygiene reasons, earrings are final sale.

If your Sónter Studio piece is faulty or arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We’ll assess and organise a repair, replacement, or refund as needed.

To keep your Sónter Studio pieces looking their best, avoid water, perfume, and sweat. Gently polish with a dry microfibre or jewellery cloth and store in your original Sónter Studio pouch or box in a cool, dry place.

We recommend regularly polishing your pieces using a dry microfibre polishing cloth or one of our specialised jewellery polishing and storing in original packaging in a cool dry place.

We recommend removing all jewellery before exercising, as sweat can affect and damage the plating over time.

For more delicate designs, it's best to take them off before any vigorous activity to prevent issues like chain breakage, dents, or bending.

To keep your jewellery looking its best, we recommend removing it before swimming, showering, or bathing - especially in salt water.

While our durable plating is built to last, avoiding water exposure will help preserve its shine and prevent tarnishing.

To maintain the finish, gently polish your pieces with a dry microfibre cloth or one of our specialised jewellery cloths. When not in use, store your jewellery in its original packaging in a cool, dry place.
